Govstack Content Management System

This is a high-level workplan for an i:Create to Govstack migration that outlines the effort and time commitment needed from your team.

We've worked hard to make this upgrade as easy as possible on your end, so you can make a few decisions and then sit back, relax, and let us do the heavy lifting!

Kickoff preparation 1 - 2 weeks duration, 1 hour effort

  • Introduction call with your migration Project Manager to review pre-kickoff checklist
  • Assembling your team
  • Completion of the pre-kickoff checklist by your team
  • We'll take care of the rest and see you at the kickoff meeting

Kickoff meeting and tasks 2 weeks, 3 - 5 hours effort

  • Kickoff meeting
  • Kickoff action items - we'll have a worksheet for you and your team to complete
  • Optional office hour sessions 3 times a week where you can drop in and ask questions if you're stuck

Installation, configuration, and content migation 8 - 10 weeks, 1 - 3 hours effort

We'll take care of this, but we might have some questions along the way. Estimated 1 - 3 hours of effort from your team.

  • Install your Govstack website
  • Apply your chosen theme and configuration settings
  • Create your admin accounts
  • Migrate your content from i:Create, based on the scope of your migration plan

Training, review, and cleanup 8 weeks, 40+ hours effort depending on amount of content

Training

Depending on your role, and what features you plan to use, you might spend between 4 and 15 hours in our training centre where all our training is available via pre-recorded videos that you can pause, re-wind, and re-watch.

You may also spend a couple hours joining our Trainer Office Hours. These are open sessions we run a few days a week where you can drop-in and ask questions when you're stuck.

Site review and cleanup

Plan to spend around 5 to 15 minutes per page of migrated content.

Our content migration process gets a lot of the work done for you, but you'll still need to review all of your pages before we go Live. Learn more about what's included in content migration and what you'll need to do afterwards.

You may also spend some time joining your Project Manager's office hours. These are open sessions we run a few days a week where you can drop-in and ask questions.
