Deactivating and Reactivating a Widget

You can deactivate a widget if you don’t want it to display on the citizen’s dashboard but wish to have access to it within the administrator portal. This can be useful for widgets that focus on seasonal information to your citizens.

Deactivating a widget

In the administrator side of Citizen Portal, select the “Widgets” tab from the top menu. Then you need to:

  1. Select the “Actions” button to the right of widget you want to deactivate
  2. Select “Edit widget” from the dropdown menu
  3. This will take you to a new page where you can edit the widget
  4. Select the “Deactivate” button at the top right

When you deactivate a widget, it will show in your widget list in the administrator portal as “InActive”. Deactivated widgets will not be displayed on the citizen’s dashboard.

Reactivating a widget

You can reactivate a widget that you decide you’d like to show on the citizen side of the portal. This can be used if you’re making updates to a widget and would like to save the changes you’ve made before they are shown to the public.

In the administrator side of Citizen Portal, select the “Widgets” tab from the top menu. Then you need to:

  1. Select the “Actions” button to the right of widget you want to reactivate
  2. Select “Edit widget” from the dropdown menu
  3. This will take you to a new page where you can edit the widget
  4. Select the “Activate” button at the top right
