Govstack Back Office

The Govstack back office allows your website's administrators and users to access and manage:

Upon logging into Govstack, you will find yourself at the Welcome Dashboard (platform level) with links to the products included in your Govstack plan (product level).

Within the product level, each of the Govstack CMS, Govstack Forms, Govstack Events and Citizen Portal products carry separate back office navigation and components that make each unique.

Govstack CMS back office

In the back office of your Govstack CMS, you have a top menu bar (typically with the 'Content', 'Media', 'Users' and 'Translation' tabs visible). Selecting each of these tabs brings you to a new screen with a left-hand tree menu.

Within the 'Content' left-hand tree menu in the Govstack CMS's back office, you will find different menu items (or nodes), such as:

  • Home (expanded to show available verticals, microsites, news and alerts, search function, content components and more). This is where you control the content for the front-facing part of your website
  • Global (includes the global settings that are implemented for your site, navigation menus, footer section, reusable components and reusable pods
  • Design (includes visual design themes established for your website and any microsites)
  • Recycle Bin (where deleted items are placed)

Page menus

Selecting an item (such as an interior page within the 'Home' node) will bring you to that item's menu screen. Here, you are presented with additional menu options in the page menu itself, such as 'Content', 'Extra Content', 'Navigation', "SEO and Share', 'Scripts' and 'Advanced'. Learn what each menu item does when adding or editing a page

The 'Media' item in the Govstack CMS's top menu bar brings you to your 'Media' folders, where you can access things like uploaded photos, video, screenshots, documents, PDFs and other uploaded files. Learn how to manage the media in the 'Media' section and how to make use of it or link to it when building your website.

The 'Users' tab in your Govstack CMS's top menu bar allows site administrators to manage users, user access, permission levels and user group settings. This important function helps you maintain who has the authority to create pages, publish pages, upload media, etc.

The 'Translation' tab in the Govstack CMS's top menu bar allows you to control the English, French and other language settings (if applicable) for different facets of your website.
