Create a Media Folder

Keep your documents, images, video and audio files organized in the Govstack Content Management System. Select the 'Media' tab from the Govstack main menu to access your media library.

Create a media folder

To add a new media folder or subfolder, you need to:

  1. Select the 'Media' tab from the Govstack main menu
  2. If you want to create a new top-level folder, select 'Media' at the top of the left navigation menu. If you want to create a subfolder under an existing folder, select the existing folder in the left navigation menu
  3. Click the 'Create' button and select 'Folder' from the dropdown menu
  4. Enter a name for the new folder
  5. Click 'Save' to create the new folder

Delete a media folder

To delete a media folder, you need to:

  1. Select the 'Media' tab from the Govstack main menu
  2. Select the folder you want to delete
  3. Click the 'Actions' button and select 'Delete' from the dropdown menu
  4. Select 'OK' to confirm that you want to delete the folder

Update or replace a media file

To update or replace a media file in the media folder, you need to:

  1. Select the 'Media' tab from the Govstack main menu
  2. Select the file you want to replace. You can do this by clicking on its name
  3. Click on 'Remove file(s)'
  4. From here, you can drag and drop a document file where it says 'Drag and drop your file(s) into the area'. Or, you can click where it says 'or click here to choose files' to browse your computer's folders to find the document
  5. Once you have added the document, click 'Save' to complete the process. This will replace the file throughout the website

Organizing your documents

You may want to create top-level folders that align with the vertical menus on your website along with subfolders to keep your documents organized.

For example, you could create a main "Building and Development" folder along with a "Development Applications" subfolder to store all of the documents that relate to development applications.
