Create Member-Only Content

You can create password-protected content in your Govstack CMS that only members in assigned member groups are able to view. You can do this for a single page or multiple pages of your site.

Create password-protected content

To password-protect your content so that only specific members or member groups can view it, you need to:

  1. Navigate to your Govstack CMS from the Govstack dashboard
  2. Under the 'Content' tab in the Govstack main menu, locate the page(s) you want to password-protect in the left navigation menu. If you password-protect a page with child pages under it, all its child pages will also be password-protected
  3. Right click on the page name, then select 'Restrict Public Access'
  4. Select whether you want to restrict page access to individual members or to a whole member group, then select 'Next'
  5. Fill in the details for the password-protected content, then click 'Save and Publish' to save your changes

Assign member access and link to login and error pages

You can now fill in the details for the password-protected page, including assigning member access and linking to the login and error form pages.

To choose which member groups or individual members will have access to the password-protected content:

  1. Under 'Member-Only Content', click 'Add'
  2. Search for the members or member groups you want to give access to the password-protected content
  3. Once you have selected all your members or member groups, click 'Submit'

You need to link to the login form page that members will use to view the password-protected content. To do this, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Under 'Login page', click 'Add'
  2. Find the login form page that was created for this password-protected content
  3. Select the page and it will automatically open

If a non-member tries to log into the password-protected content but has not been added as a member, they will be unable to view the content. To link to the error message page that non-members will meet if they try to log in without access, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Under 'Error Page', click 'Add'
  2. Find the error message page created for the password-protected content
  3. Select the page and it will automatically open
