Member Navigation

If you have created password-protected content on your Govstack CMS that only assigned members and member groups can view, you can also set up these page sections to have their own navigation in the Global Node.

Set a custom navigation heading

You can set the heading for the navigation of a members-only section of your website to be different from the default navigation heading used on the rest of your website. To set a custom navigation heading for member-only password-protected content, you need to:

  1. Navigate to the Global Node in the 'Content' navigation tree
  2. Select 'Navigation' from the menu options
  3. Select the 'Member' tab
  4. Next to 'Navigation heading', enter the custom navigation heading you want to appear for member-only content
  5. Select 'Save and publish'

Logged in members navigation

You can choose which password-protected pages you want to appear in the navigation for members who are logged in and have access to those pages. To set up the page navigation for these members, you need to:

  1. Navigate to the Global Node in the 'Content' navigation tree
  2. Select 'Navigation' from the menu options
  3. Select the 'Member' tab
  4. Next to 'Logged in members navigation', add a page menu link, delete or edit a page menu link or move and sort pages for your password-protected pages
  5. Once you are finished, select 'Save and publish'

Members with access to the password-protected pages will now be able to view those pages with the navigation you set up.

Logged out members navigation

For members who are logged out but have access to password-protected pages on your website, you can set up the navigation so that the member login page appears when they try to access the content.

To do this, you need to:

  1. Navigate to the Global Node in the 'Content' navigation tree
  2. Select 'Navigation' from the menu options
  3. Select the 'Member' tab
  4. Next to 'Logged out members navigation', select 'Add' then select 'Add Link'
  5. Find your member login form, then click 'Submit'
  6. Once you are finished, select 'Save and publish'
