Govstack CMS V.1.7 Release Notes

We are pleased to announce that we will be scheduling a Govstack CMS release to improve the user experience in several critical areas.

🔈 Product: Govstack CMS V.1.7

🕐 Release window: Thursday, October 24, from 4:00 AM - 6:00 AM EST

Details: During this scheduled maintenance, there will be a period of 10-15 minutes in which all Govstack CMS services will be unavailable. We recommend saving all work prior to the release window.

Here's what's new in Govstack CMS:

Media Manager – Create listings of documents, files and other uploads on the CMS with the new Media Manager paid add-on

Display a list of Media Pages on the site via a new listing component, with search filters and a variety of presentation configuration options to control what and how Media Pages are displayed

Each Media Page will display your categorical and meta information in a consistent way, with options to configure the look and feel of these pages alike regular content pages

Once enabled on your site, Media Manager can be created under a Home node through the Create menu. Enter a name and publish Media Manager to get started. The CMS will fully create all sub-content for Media Manager, including a variety of sample meta information fields and sample templates to work with

A tailored Backoffice search with additional matching criteria for Media Pages in each folder and subfolder helps make it easier to locate items based on their configuration, instead of by name only

For more information on this paid add-on, please contact your Account Executive

Extended Timeout Sessions We’ve extended the session timeout length from 20 to 60 minutes to give administrators more time to switch between tasks when they are working in the back office

Pods Component User Interface Improvements – New layout options have been added to give greater control over the responsiveness at different screen sizes. Administrators can now configure content like icon rows and directory pages

Grid Layout Component  The Grid Layout component is now end of life. This component will now display in the Backoffice as “Manual Editor (Not Supported)”. No changes have been made to how content using this component is displayed on the frontend of the website. The Pods and Split Component options are recommended as alternatives that will give improved responsiveness and functionality

Key Improvements:

Alert Banner Links  – Links that are used in Alerts will now open as expected when clicked

Sticky Component Design Style On Mobile View – We've improved the responsiveness of components with the “Sticky” style configuration when the page zoom is high

News Subscription Email Internal Links – Added links within News Post “Custom Messages” for subscriber notifications will now function correctly

Sub Navigation Container –
We've corrected the padding that's added to remove H1 page headings

Outbound Menu Links –
Outbound Links will no longer appear in the XML sitemap

Anchored Accordions – The Anchored Accordions component can now have custom names entered per item to improve organization in the Backoffice

Side Navigation – The side navigation will now show translated text for side navigation elements on non-English versions of sites

Transparent Headers on Mobile Devices – Alert banners will no longer overlap transparent headers on mobile devices

Menu Manager – We've fixed an issue with Menu Manager dropdown menus displaying incorrect colours on mobile devices

News Feed components –  News Feed components that display each news post's Summary "Image" will now use the selected image's alternative text provided within the Media section

In addition to these great updates, we’ve made other improvements to enhance the overall performance of our platform and to be able to better serve our customers.
