Editing and Deleting Widgets
A widget can be edited after being added to the portal. For example, this can be used if you wish to make an update to a content widget or if you’d like to change the calendar categories displaying on a calendar widget.
Edit an existing widget
In the administrator side of Citizen portal, select the “Widgets” tab from the top menu. Then you need to:
- Select the “Actions” button to the right of widget that you want to edit
- Select “Edit widget” from the dropdown menu
- This will take you to a new page where you can edit the widget's configuration, content and notifications
- Under "Notifications", turn on "Widget Notification" if you would like subscribed users to receive a notification for the edits you made. Turn it off if you don't want them to receive a notification (i.e., if you are simply fixing a spelling error)
- Click “Save” to save your changes
Delete a widget
There are two ways to delete an existing widget. In the administrator side of Citizen portal, select the “Widgets” tab from the top menu. Then you need to:
- Select the “Actions” button to the right of the widget you wish to delete
- Select “Delete widget”
Alternatively, you can delete a widget using the “edit widget” function. In the administrator side of Citizen portal, select the “Widgets” tab from the top menu. Then, you need to:
- Select the “Actions” button to the right of the widget you wish to delete
- Select ”Edit widget”
- Select the “Delete” button at the top right of the page
Please note that once a widget is deleted, you can’t recover the widget. The widget will be removed from the administrator portal as well as from the citizen’s dashboard.
