You can add videos, audio files and vector files in the Govstack Content Management System (CMS) to use in a variety of content components on your website, including:
Before you can add a video, audio or vector file in the Govstack CMS, you need create a media folder.
Upload a video, audio or vector file
To add a video, audio or vector file to a media folder, you need to:
- Select the 'Media' tab from the Govstack main menu
- This will take you to the 'Media' library. Select the folder you want to add the file to
- From here, you can drag and drop a file where it says 'Drag and drop your file(s) into the area'. Or, you can where it says 'or click here to choose files' to browse your computer's folders to find the file
- Once the video, audio or vector file is uploaded, click 'Save' to complete the process
Add alternative text
If you have uploaded a video or vector file, you need to add alternative (alt) text to it in order to meet accessibility requirements. Learn how to write accessible alt text for images and videos.
To add or edit alt text for a video or vector file:
- Select the 'Media' tab from the Govstack main menu
- Select the folder that contains the file you want to add alt text to
- Select the video or vector file name (not the image icon itself)
- In the 'Alternative text' field, add your alt text
- Click 'Save'
The alt text you add to a video or vector file in the media library will be used whenever that file is added to a content component.
