User Management

Learn how to add a new user to your Govstack CMS and assign user permissions within the CMS by creating user groups. For example, you may want to create a user group for each department and provide them with access to certain sections of the website.

Add a CMS user

In order for someone from your organization to access the back office of your Govstack CMS, you first need to add them as a CMS user.

Create user permission groups

You can create user permission groups in the Govstack CMS, define different types of user permissions and add CMS users to each user group.

With user permission groups, you can control:

  • Which areas of the CMS a user group can access
  • Which content and administrative changes a user group can make to pages
  • Which folders in the 'Content' and 'Media' tabs a user group can access

The Design and Global Nodes

When creating user permissions pay particular attention to who has access to the Design and Global nodes on your website. Both of these areas contain settings and options that can significantly impact the operation and appearance of your website. You may want to lock all non-administrator users out of these spaces. See the 'Set unique permission for specific pages' section under creating user permission groups for details.
